HPAW HD Testing

Category: Gears of War,HPAW,News

Some of you may have noticed that I have uploaded two high definition test videos to YouTube in order to test the new “fmt=22” format (aka 720P). These tests do not mean that HPAW will be presented in high definition. In fact they pretty much mean the opposite. I have found that processing time is over 4x longer for HD content and the files sizes will be in the multiples of gigabytes. It would likely take over 24 hours to get a video from filming to online if we filmed in HD as opposed to the current 3-5 hours.

HPAW in HD:

In other news the Gears of War Marathon is now back on the server and downloadable in its original WMV format.

Sucks that it takes so long to encode in hd cause those hd test-videos look damn nice.

oh and thanks for the gow-marathon. i’ve been meaning to watch it again but some of the parts on google video don’t work anymore.

of course recording at this level of quality is ludicrous but in all honesty i think you should raise the quality of your videos a bit,it seems each of your one hour videos have been about 260-380 megabytes except for maybe gtaIV where all the parts were pushing 500 but im perfectly alright with another 100MB per video all the time if it will raise the quality enough to be able to read in game text without squinting when i switch to full screen

how do you watch wmv files? nice vid mempf. I think hd makes vids alot more darker, but it’s just my opinion.
