It’s Official, We’re going H.264
UPDATE: Videos removed to make server space for new videos
I have decided that HPAW will be leaving the proprietary, Microsoft owned WMV format we have used since we have had “high-quality” versions.
H.264 will be a major increase in downloadable quality and I am very excited to see how we can use it to improve HPAW.
Starting with the Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition Marathon all future videos will be released in three formats:
1. High-Quality H.264 for viewing on the PC.
2. Low-Quality H.264 for viewing on a iPod or PSP (Will not be used in Marathons).
3. Google Video for those to lazy, can’t or just don’t want to download the videos.
To view the new format you may need to download the proper codec. I recommend either the CCCP or the K-Lite Codec Pack or as King of Iceland suggests the VLC Media Player
If you have problems with H.264 video our staff will be glad to help you, well maybe not WorldGone Awry.
I have filmed another teaser for the Resident Evil 4 Marathon in this new format which I would like to have everyone test and give feedback on the quality of the video.
And for an added bonus I’m throwing in HPAW’s first ever High-Def 720P video to show where H.264 MIGHT take us. Please note there is no game sound and I threw this together very fast.

thats going to be cool
It was laggy during the gamplay. The intro and credits was normal. I think you should use the RE4 style instead during the marathon. But it was AWESOME!!!! (For both)
It hitches up in spots but it looks sweet
very great job with this vid can’t to see you do more with this
I love the Higher quality, but with this method it will require users to take more time in downloading the movie, also people like myself who watch them on our 360’s wont be able to anymore 🙁 oh well, ill just have to find a converter
i cant download the new vids :'(
I downloaded on my computer without the proper codec and it works, but not very well. It is very jumpy and it frezes constantly so I recomend geting the proper codec (did not test on computer with codec FYI).
meh i guess ill just wait till the google version come out 😛
That Counter-Strike Source game was so clear with VLC.
meh, google always worked for me
just waiting to download right now
much better now
The Xbox can play MP4’s after the spring update
I’m getting sound, but no video. Yippee.

yeah but you cant download them directly from the web as MP4 with the 360, only wmv
ah, is that the problem
Well I just watched both, and they look great. There were a couple lag-ups, but over all they went fine. The media player is the way to go.
I got it to work with quicktime. All I have to say is……………WOW!
